Word Up of the Week: Inspire

Welcome to the “Word Up” for this week – inspiration and insights on everyday words; exploring the power and meaning behind them.

When words are kind and true, they can change our world” ~ Buddha

Inspire >

Fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, esp. to do something creative.

It comes from the Old French ‘inspirer’ which is ‘to breathe or blow into’. You can think of it as breathing life into something or someone.

  • Who inspires you and why is that?
  • What do you know is inspiring about you?
  • Who do you help with this inspiration and what’s that about for you?

Or put another way:

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.”

~ Judy Garland
