Word Up of the Week: Invite

Welcome to the “Word Up” for this week – inspiration and insights on everyday words; exploring the power and meaning behind them.

When words are kind and true, they can change our world” ~ Buddha

Invite >

To make a polite, formal or friendly request to someone or to tempt someone to do something.

It’s easy to go into ‘telling’ mode, especially at this time of the year with so much going on. ~

  • Who do you know you tell more than invite into action?
  • How could you make what you want more inviting or tempting for them?
  • When someone invites you to do something (rather than tells you) what’s the difference for you?

Or put another way:

“I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.”

~ Mae West
